A White Christmas in Croatia
Marie and Nil entered Croatia from Slovenia on December 22, spending their first night in the forest.
They were sad to leave Slovenia, a country with impressively clean trails and very friendly people. So far, the Croatian trails have not met the same standard, with a fair amount of trash for the pair to collect and dispose of!
Marie and Nil were treated to a white Christmas, which made for beautiful photos but more difficult hiking conditions. In the town of Delnice, they took some time out to enjoy a little Christmas market and sample the local mulled wine.
On December 27 they entered Risnjak National Park and joined the Via Dinarica trail, a hiking route that runs all the way from Slovenia to Albania.
