Marie and Nil venture on into Italy. They had sworn to themselves that Switzerland's 'Bernina Range' glacier would be the last they would cross. However, in order to get from Italy's Lombardy province to the Trentino-Alto-Adige province, they had to cross yet another glacier near Monte Cevedale.
Down from the high peaks, they speak of their surprise that the Italian region speaks German! There is a historical context here. The area belonged to Austria before World War I.
