Slovenian Caves and Onwards into Croatia
Having had their fill of the tourist sights on Lake Bled, Marie and Nil continued to their first capital city of the entire trip, Ljubljana. They took some time to visit the central market as well as a former barracks, occupied by artists since 1993 to prevent its destruction and serve as the city's primary art space.
On December 16 they were back on the road again, exploring some of Slovenia's 8,000 caves on route to Lake Cerknica. They checked out one of the largest local caves, Krizna, and explored the lake in overcast, misty conditions.
On December 22 they posted for the final time from Slovenia as they arrived at the Croatian border, country number seven of their hike.
