The Mississippi River as a Tiny Stream

Date: July 24, 2018
Approximate GPS Location: (47.24°N, 95.20°W)

After kite-skiing and mountain biking south from the Arctic, Arnaud Maldague is currently at Lake Itasca, Minnesota, the source of the headwaters of the Mississippi River. He is waiting for his kayaking gear to arrive and hopes to begin down the river in a week.

One of the photos shows the beginning of the Mississippi River, the world's 4th longest, as a small stream meandering through a grassy meadow. It is there that Maldague will put in and start his downriver kayak journey.
