Maldague Avoids Hurricane Dorian Waiting in Honduras
In our last update, Maldague sailed three days from Belize to Roatan, Honduras. One of his main purposes for making a stop in Honduras was to receive two packages, an aerial drone and "flax packing" (for repairing a leak). This was because he had difficulty sending the packages to Belize.
His original plan was to stay no more than a week, but, quite frustratingly for Maldague, only one of the two packages arrived with the other being held up in customs. As we have witnessed in countless other adventures, being forced to wait is probably one of the most agonizing aspects for adventurers, just due to their restless personalities. But it is an oft-occurring and inherent reality in the nature of long adventures and expeditions.
Maldague has been making a few repairs and buying supplies, but he says it is the first time in a "very, very long time" that he was able to do nothing for a few days, commenting, "It feels weirdly good."
Being held back may have actually turned out to be fortunate since he was able to wait out the effects of Hurricane Dorian. The hurricane terrorized some of the Caribbean islands such as Puerto Rico.
There are very few people in Roatan, but Maldague took some time out with a French-American family who were sailing the world for a few years. They were air-line diving enthusiasts and took Maldague on a few 'air-line' dives in the region.
