Search for River’s Source Continues on Land; Massive Bushwhacking
Date: February 21, 2018
Approximate GPS Location: (1.35°N, 59.11°W)
As the female trio ventures up the headwaters of Guyana's Essequibo River in dugout canoes, the stream became too small, and fallen logs and tangled vines too frequent. The search now continues on land now at a very slow pace (around 2 miles/day) involving frequent machete cutting of dense palms and brambles, and could even last for another week. Laura had a close call when a "very poisonous" scorpion walked across her shoulders!
