In Historic First, River’s Source Found

Date: March 09, 2018
Approximate GPS Location: (1.42°N, 59.03°W)

The group has now found the source of the Essequibo River, making it a first in history for one of S America's longest. Now they are well on their way down in inflatable kayaks. According to Bingham who is leading the group, the stress levels from dealing with the first portion of the journey were exceedingly high whereas now, she and the others are relaxing more as they go with the river's pace. They spotted a jaguar on shore and a caiman (small S American alligator) has been following them downriver.
