Female Trio May Become First Ever to Find River Source
Date: February 16, 2018
Approximate GPS Location: (1.38°N, 58.90°W)
In order to run the Essequibo River, the three women must find its source. In doing so, they would be the first ever. They now believe they are only about 12 miles from it and are helped by the Wai Wai local ethnicity in dug-out canoes. The boatmen are also teaching them how to live off the river. The river has narrowed considerably and the high waters has caused many fallen trees to block their progress. Soon they will have no choice but to walk through the brush in search of the source.
