Vedangi Kulkarni

Kulkarni Fastest Asian Woman to Cycle Around World

Date: December 28, 2018
Approximate GPS Location: (32.04°S, 115.68°E)

Kulkarni has completed her around-the-world (ATW) cycling journey, clocking a total of 159 days. She did not break the record for fastest time by a woman, which now stands at 125 days by Jenny Graham of Britain. She did, however, achieve the fastest ATW cycling time by an Asian woman and is likely the fastest such time by a woman so young. She is only 19 years old.

She finished the last part of her journey in India, cycling from Mumbai to Kolkata, completing the 29000km (18000 mi) necessary to qualify as an ATW cycling trip. She then took a flight to Perth, Australia, cycling another 9 miles to finish at the spot where she began.
