Davis Enters Sudan

Date: January 23, 2019
Approximate GPS Location: (7.16°N, 30.76°E)

A month after reaching the border between Uganda and South Sudan, Davis is back on the Nile. Now in Kosti, Sudan, it is obvious Davis opted not to paddle the stretch through South Sudan, a country severely marred by warfare. After meeting with Sudan's Minister of Youth and Sport, Davis set off paddling from near Sudan's southern border (or in/near Kosti) with Busati, one of Sudan's "elite paddlers" from Khartoum's Rowing and Canoe Club. Davis said it was "awesome to be back paddling," adding that she still has a few thousand kilometers remaining.
