Date: January 07, 2018
Approximate GPS Location: (36.30°N, 74.31°E)
Pulitzer-prize writer Paul Salopek is now walking through the Hunza region of Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan. A gaggle of schoolchildren followed him for 11 miles. He has met farmers of wild hay and apricots, gold panners and child laborers; watched cricket at a local tea house and made Hunza's first apple pie with a local chef. He revealed that he chooses to follow canals through the rugged mountainous region instead of the vehicle ridden Karakoram Highway.
