Bin Laden’s Deathbed and Forced Bypass

Date: March 15, 2018
Approximate GPS Location: (31.48°N, 74.21°E)

Salopek visits Pakistan's ancient Mughul city of Lahore, including the spice market and 17th Century royal baths. Perhaps the most startling news however is his late release of earlier Milestones 52 and 53. Milestone 52, revealing that, due to murders and elevated violence, the police demanded he bypass 78 miles of his journey near Chelas. And in Milestone 53 he visited Abbottabad, the place where Bin Laden was killed while in hiding.
