Jelle Veyt

Veyt to take on the Bering Strait

Date: December 30, 2021
Approximate GPS Location: (50.91°N, 4.45°E)

It has been a while since we heard from Jelle Veyt, who took some time off after his successful climb of Kilimanjaro. Veyt still has three more peaks to complete in Antarctica, North America, and South America.

He recently announced that, once again, he’ll be headed for Denali in North America. His attempt to row the Atlantic was called off due to illness, so he has had to come up with a new human-powered route. Veyt will cycle up to Siberia and the Bering Strait before rowing the (comparatively) short distance to Alaska.

There’s no word yet on when he plans to begin.
