Across the Atlantic, But Still At Sea

Date: January 20, 2023
Approximate GPS Location: (12.16°N, 68.97°W)

On December 16, Jelle Veyt and his sailboat team arrived in Saint Lucia having crossed the Atlantic Ocean.

Veyt clearly found it tough going, suggesting in his blog that he would not recommend the company he sailed with and detailing a cramped, mentally taxing stay on the boat.

From Saint Lucia, Veyt joined a new boat and sailed on to Curacao Island. Here he was able to get off the boat for a few days. Veyt took advantage and headed into the interior of the island to do some rock climbing.

The boat, “Lady Athena”, will be Veyt’s home for the next month across the Caribbean Sea to Panama, where his bicycle is waiting for him.
