Bridget McCutchen

McCutchen Youngest Woman To Travel Around The World By Motorbike

Date: December 01, 2023
Approximate GPS Location: (46.59°N, 90.88°W)

After flying down to Bangkok, McCutchen had some time to see the sights before reuniting with her bike Moab.

After a mountain of paperwork, she headed southeast to her antipodal point. This point was one of the last Guinness requirements McCutchen needed to tick off to set the record as the youngest woman to ride around the world on a motorbike.

McCutchen needed to reach a point directly opposite Lima, Peru, the first antipodal point she chose at the start of her journey, 16 months earlier. This point "ended up being a small town close to the border with Cambodia, a town which Google, in all of its infinite wisdom, seems to still have no name for," she wrote.

Though seemingly without a name, McCutchen rode to and documented the coordinates of the town, before turning around and heading for Malaysia, where she would end her Asian ride in Kuala Lumpur.

From there she flew to Canada and made the last leg of her journey home to Ashland, Wisconsin, finishing on November 4. There was no big sign-off for McCutchen, who announced that she'll be "going back to work on boats hopefully for the next few years."
