Breathless Views While Breathless From Covid

Date: March 31, 2022
Approximate GPS Location: (13.57°S, 72.48°W)

Casey, plagued by weakness and respiratory insufficiency after having had Covid, has been off to a slow start following the Amazon headwaters in the high Andes. There have been a lot of steep climbs but the payoff is the amazing views. At one point he was over 4,000m (13,123 ft).

He finds himself in remote, quaint villages. His next milestone is a town (as of yet unnamed) that has amenities such as banks and hostels. Even though the town is not far as the crow flies, by following the Apurimac (his current tributary of the Amazon), he finds himself winding back on himself. One step forward, two steps back. He thinks he will have to cut across farmland and valleys in order to make progress, but even so, he does not think he will make it to said town in less than a few weeks.
